Our Bank has been authorised to
collect non-judicial stamp duty on behalf of Govt
of Karnataka.This is effective from 01-05-2003.
There are two types of documents requiring stamping
a) documents requiring registration at District Registrar’s
Office(DROs) or Sub-Registrar’s Office (SROs) and
b) documents that do not require registration
Three of the State Bank Group Banks have been
authorised to attend to this work as under:
State Bank of Mysore -208
branches
State Bank of Hyderabad -20 branches
State Bank of India -30
branches
In Bangalore alone, 12 of our branches have been designated
/ authorised to collect stamp duty in respect of
documents requiring registration and are
linked to different SROs for this purpose. These
branches will collect stamp duty and issue document
sheets/papers also to the members of public. In
addition 42 branches have also been authorised
to collect
stamp duty and issue documents sheets/papers
in respect of documents not requiring registration
